Our Story
Our Team
In 2013, three people combined their wealth of knowledge to form Playou, a revolutionary Prague-based company at the forefront of the business storytelling frontier.
Three founders—Radim, Daniel, and Veronika—came together to combine their wealth of knowledge into a project that would change business for the better. Radim was a marketing and strategy specialist, Daniel was a professional video game player, and Veronika was a fashion designer and illustrator.
Although their backgrounds were quite different, they brought their experiences and knowledge together to form Playou, a groundbreaking animation studio founded with the purpose of creating short animated and explanative videos for companies.
Fast-forward to 2020, and Playou has a total number of 700 successfully completed projects under its belt. At Playou, the team of ten and its dozens of external creatives have an additional victory: they have collectively produced videos for companies in countries worldwide.
As part of the video projects, the team provides workshops and training for marketing managers and corporate teams, and they help them to create strategies, stories, and so on. This is where the breakthrough idea for the Storytelling School originated.
The Beginning
From the beginning, the aim was to create high-quality, highly-informative courses that would revolutionize business. This would entail creating top-notch, knowledge-filled videos that would also be a pleasure to watch. Most importantly, they need to be able to achieve business goals.
Following nine months of exasperating work, we finally created a strategy. Thus, “Visual Storytelling for Business”—a course that seeks to help communicate business professionals through stories—was born.
We validated the course with 42 managers from large global companies, and the feedback was both positive and negative.
So what were the positives, you ask? "The elaboration of the courses is exceptionally nice,” some said. “The content is very elaborate,” said others. “Compared to other online courses, the quality is very high."
However, there were also some negatives. "The course is too robust,” we were told. “It contains a lot of tasks,” one individual added. “It is challenging to complete it by the end."
It was clear that we needed to make changes, but we were on the right track.
Improvements
Modifications have since taken place, and the Visual Storytelling course was made easier to complete than ever before. We then set about developing other courses. This time, we focused on an easy-to-complete structure. The development was rapid, and we were able to produce a course in just two months. At this rate, we plan to create dozens of communication and content creation courses.
Storytelling
Storytelling School has been named as such because we believe that a story is the best form of communication. Whether it is a presentation, a website, or just a simple collection of text, we believe storytelling is at the heart of absolutely everything.
What you’ll find at Storytelling School
At the Storytelling School, you will find both paid and unpaid courses, methodologies, tools, and other content. We also offer webinars, online masterclass meetings, workshops, and other interactive events. Each course is created in either a Self-paced, Cohort, Team, or Individual Workshop format.
